Welcome to ArizonaBadminton.com, a place for badminton players of all ages and abilities to learn all there is about the great sport of badminton. ArizonaBadminton is a site geared more towards the beginning and intermediate level player. We have great articles on getting into badminton as well as conditioning and training tips that will help you progress in the sport.

Our blog is a place to keep up to date with the badminton happenings of our home in Phoenix, Arizona. While not quite the badminton capital of the USA, we do have a number of dedicated players and clubs and a rather competitive girls high school circuit.

OK, so what really is our goal?

Here in Arizona, badminton is a girls-only high school sport. While Title IX has done much to bring gender equality to the world of high school athletics, we feel that the discriminatory exclusion of “less popular” sports is not conducive to the spirit of Title IX. The main goal of this web site, in addition to promoting badminton knowledge to the masses, is to serve as a catalyst in the creation of an Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) independent youth co-ed league spanning the Phoenix Metro area. From Peoria to Queen Creek, it is our goal to one day have a competitive league with city-based teams of boys and girls competing the way badminton is supposed to be played (and is played in most high schools across the nation). Additionally, to us it is a misconception that badminton is an individual sport. Team play, healthy competition, and co-ed integration are important components of youth character development and we seek to bring those ideals to the valley badminton community.
